Fan Art!

Isaac Klinger recently sent me three pieces of Sam & Max Fan Art he made parodying Red Meat. I really like the second one. A lot.

A Good Old Fashioned Non-Specific Update

Saturday, May 27th, 2000 by Jake

I finally got around to adding the Afterlife cameo to the Sightings section (after receiving an email about it at least once a month since the site opened… oops). Also a new piece of ‘art’ by Quackass has been added to the Fan Art section. At least I think it was by him.Of note if only for the sake of archiving (or if you missed it on LucasFans) is GameSpot’s top 10 poll asking readers who their favorite sidekick was (now a couple weeks old). Max came in at a respectable third place.

Max Sighting in Limp Bizkit Music Video

Wednesday, May 3rd, 2000 by Jake

Yes it’s true, as far as I can tell. Derek Austill sent this screen capture from the Limp Bizkit music video for their song “Break Stuff.” You can see Max on the amps set up there. This is one of the first non-LEC/comic Max sithtings in a while (other than his appearance in Corolis Storm, the Quake III map). To watch the music video go here (RealPlayer required). It isn’t an exact max, but is definately similar to the skull and crossbones Max seen in various places, especially all over the cover of the Color Collection.

Monkey Island 4 Lowdown

Tuesday, May 2nd, 2000 by Jake

As mentioned on Snuckey’s, Mix’n'Mojo, The Scumm Bar, and a bazillion other places, Monkey Island 4, titled Escape from Monkey Island, was announced on the 26th of April. “How does this relate to Sam & Max?” Well, the Monky Island 4 project is being led by (and has most of the dialogue written by) Sam & Max Hit The Road project co-leaders Michael J. Stemmle and Sean Clark. Also, of note is this quote from the chat with Dominic Armato (voice of Guybrush in Monkey Island 3 and 4):

MrCoulomb: dom_ do you see a little of the Sam and Max style humour in EMI? I think i can…_Dom_: MrC… yeah, it’s still MI goofy, but it has a touch of the Sam ‘N Max sarcasm… should make for a nice mix :-)
