Happy #3 to me

Tuesday, February 26th, 2002 by Jake

As of today Unofficial is three years old, and in this last year, barely no progress has been made on the site redesign. I have got a couple surprises that I’m currently working on, most of them involve adding content. The first example of this is the actual appearance of the new comicography which is, as far as I can tell, borderline complete at this point.

Infinite Machine not so Infinite?

Tuesday, February 26th, 2002 by Jake

Though that redesign news isn’t great, it’s good news compared to the rumors going around on the forums. According to some source or another of Isaac Klinger’s, Infinite Machine is going on “hold” for an unknown amount of time once New Legends is published. I’m hoping very much that that’s not true.

Activision to Publish Sam & Max 2?

Monday, February 25th, 2002 by Jake

Gabez has sent me some scans from the latest PC Zone, a UK gaming mag, both talking (very briefly) about the new Sam & Max game from Infinite Machine. The first one is a somewhat amusing clip from an interview with Tom Sarris, LucasArts’ head of PR. I think they either misquoted him or Tom was in a rush, since he attributes Sam & Max Hit the Road to Tim Schafer (or Tim Schaffer as the magazine misspells it).

The other image is far more interesting. It’s a top 10 list of action-adventures the PC Zone staff is currently anticipating. Of course (of course?) “Sam & Max 2″ is on the list, but it lists the publisher as Activision. Prior to this, as far as I know at least, no publisher was listed and everyone was assuming it would just be THQ again (the publishers of Infinite Machine’s first game). Maybe this means its not stuck as an XBox exclusive after all. Of course, maybe it just means Activision is handling UK distribution.

Sam & Max Collection Almost Available

Tuesday, February 19th, 2002 by Jake

News so old it’s not worth mentioning: For a couple weeks Amazon and other online booksellers were listing the Sam & Max: Surfin’ the Highway comic collection as in-stock, with a 2 week expected delivery time. They’ve gone back to listing as “Out of Stock,” though, so don’t get your hopes up. Of course, there’s always buying it used. Don’t know how well that works though. In other news, this site turns 3 years old in a week. I’m scared.

BBC Kids - New Scheduling System

Tuesday, February 19th, 2002 by Jake

Another silly update, BBCKids, the only known network to be airing the Sam & Max cartoon series, has a new schedule system. Now you can see which episodes will be airing during the week, if you’re fortunate(?) enough to get BBCKids. Just click on Saturday, Sunday, or Monday of that week and see what’s on. For example, here’s their page for Max’s Big Day.By the way, if you are wondering, yes, BBC Kids is airing The Glazed McGuffin Affair.
