The Internet ate my balls website

Well…well.

We’re back, after nearly a month down. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry! Sorry for the downtime. No real need to go into details; suffice it to say something got screwed up on the server after a rather dull series of events, and I was not able to get this site back up and running until this past weekend.

So, the damage report is that we lost most of our registered users and most of our comments. I had to get about 40-50 news posts back by hand, and we just couldn’t save everything. :(

But let’s change the subject! The good news is that we have all our posts, and we’re all backed up, now. Also, this interruption has spurred me out of my torpor and I’ve started chipping away at a real new design.

Thanks to Doug and Jake for hosting the site and throwing up a mini-page during the time I didn’t have access. Thanks to the forum guys for keeping me on my toes. Internet toes. Thanks to Bryan for letting me guilt him into catching us up on the news highlights in the few spare moments between his newfound college commitments.

So yeah, we’re probably back. Stay tuned for more Sam and Max stuff, because we love those guys, and sorry again for the downtime.

Hectic News Catch Up

The Sam & Max Animated Series boxed set DVD is making headway, but don’t get too excited, the release date is still several months away. The current plan is for the set to be three-discs and contain at least two interviews.

Season One has hit retail and can be found at various stores as well as online. Note that the retail version comes with the extra incentive of a free full-sized poster!

Season Two is apparently underway as evinced by an animation of a new character by the moniker of Stinky. There are also spurious rumors about Flint Paper’s appearance in the upcoming Telltale games.

Additionally, some new merchandise has popped up over at the Telltale Store for your consideration. There’s a new poster available and you can have Steve Purcell’s signature on it for a measly five clams more. And for fans of last year’s Steve Purcell sketchbook, there’s a new one just waiting to add some flavor to your bookshelf.

In upcoming news, look forward to a sincere apology from Metallus that’ll be sure to ease some of your frustration and seething anger.
