Big Trouble at the Earth's Core is the 8th episode in the series The Adventures of Sam & Max: Freelance Police.

The Earth's core has been heating up to dangerous levels, and Sam and Max must cool it down.

While trying to identify something from the office fridge, Sam & Max receive a coded message from the Commissioner saying that there's big trouble at the Earth's core. With the Geek's help, they drill their way to the center of the Earth and start investigating. Soon they find out that the Earth is about to superheat and explode. They fiddle with the controls but are quickly captured by the local Molemen.

As it turns out, the Molemen are neglecting their duty to maintain the core temperature in order to prepare for a mass exodus onto the surface world. After Dr Morag explains their plot to create fake hands for all Molemen, The Geek calls. Sam & Max then sabotage the assembly line and ruin the plot, somehow cooling the core back down in the process. The Molemen then rush in to attack them. They can easily hold off most of them, but not Morag.

But just when they're about to be thrown into the magma, a wall suddenly bursts open and a group of Mole Women appear. This means the Molemen no longer want to go to the surface, and Sam & Max can leave quietly.
