[edit] In-Depth Synopsis
Sam and Max spend Christmas with Sam's grandmother Ruth, and this year she has a special surprise: she takes them to spread the cheer at Blood Island penitentiary, a prison where she's been a well-respected warden for 40 years.
Most of the inmates are thrilled to see her, but then there's her old enemy Herzog who just wants to use the opportunity to escape. After he and his goons cause a power outage, they're gone and Sam, Max and Ruth have to track them down. They manage to head them off at the showers, but Herzog eludes them once more and makes his way to the Warden's office.
They arrive soon enough though and Ruth quickly beats him. Then Santa Claus drop through the chimney and Herzog escapes once more. They tie Herzog's goons to a giant Christmas tree and get back to spreading the cheer. But under the tree is a gift for Ruth: Herzog, neatly wrapped up.
