Chuckles

Chuckles is a Prismatology flunkey who worked for Hugh Bliss in order to carry out plans for hypnotism through the Secret Service and the Toy Mafia. He first appeared in The Mole, the Mob and the Meatball. He is possibly the one who sent Myra Stump the hypno bear triggering the events of Situation: Comedy. His second and final appearence was in Abe Lincoln Must Die!, serving as a main antagonist.

In The Mole, the Mob, and the Meatball, Chuckles seems to have some kind of leadership position within the Toy Mafia, as new recruits have to report to him at the Ted E. Bear's Mafia Free Playland and Casino. Just what it is he does at the Toy Mafia is never made clear; but he will eventually tell Sam and Max (who are trying to get in the mafia) to do three jobs; re-claim the stolen famous meatball sandwhich, assassinate Sybil and shopdrop Bosco's Inconvenience with hypno bears (shopdrop refers to forcing items into the store for sale). They complete all these jobs (though they tricked Chuckles into beleiving they killed Sybil). Following the destruction of the gang, it is revealed Chuckles plans go far beyond the Mafia.

In Abe Lincoln Must Die!, Chuckles turns out to be a Secret Service agent (nicknamed Papa Bear by Superball) appearing at the White House plotting to use the position of the President of the United States (and the security of the Gov't) to control and hypnotize the entire US. When the Puppet President is decapitated, he simply brings out Abraham Lincoln instead; but Max becomes a presidential runner and, by tricking Abe, wins the election; this outrages Lincoln causing him to go on a rampage, which was ended following his death at Sam and Max's hands. Since Chuckles rode on Abe's shoulder the whole time, he died alongside him.

It is implied that Chuckles got the hypnosis technology through Hugh Bliss and that his actions were part of Hugh Bliss' Master Plan, but whether he consciously served him or was being manipulated is never made clear. It is also implied that the Toy Mafia got the technology for the hypno-bears through him and that he was somehow manipulating Ted E. Bear, but the details remain unknown.
