[edit] Synopsis

Returning home from the north pole, Sam and Max find Sybil being chased by a big triangular portal. After they put a stop to it with Bosco and Girl Stinky's help, Abe Lincoln accidentally gets sucked into it, causing Sybil to go after him, causing Sam and Max to follow. They find themselves on Easter Island, and are granted by three Moai Heads. They explain that a mysterious demon is set out to cause the island to explode and that they are the ones who can save them. They find some babies addicted to the Fountain of Youth water, which as the name suggests, decreases the age of the drinker. They can easily find the cave leading to the ocean, though Baby Jimmy Hoffa is guarding it.

They eventually trick him into drinking himself out of existence, thus bringing them into contact with the Ocean Chimps, who refuse to do anything for S&M unless they prove themselves the high priests. After multiple tasks, including scaring Bosco by prank calling him into believing T.H.E.M. is after them (all for Banang), Max successfully tricks them into believing he is the high priest, angering the real high priest and the real antagonist of this episode -- Mr Spatula! The same one killed recently at the hands of the Maimtron 9000. Sam and Max barely manage to save the island from them, saving the day.

[edit] Notes

  • The title is based on the 1990 movie Mo' Better Blues.
  • If the player goes through the Lost and Found bin at the islands entrance, Sam will comment on finding a playable beta of Sam & Max: Freelance Police, the Sam and Max game canceled by LucasArts.
  • In the underwater cave, you can find crates with a print of a muscular commando guy with the box labeled as D.N.E.. This may be a reference to another but not so canceled game, Duke Nukem Forever.
  • In the underwater cave, you can find Sam's Bowling ball, Lou. You can even drop it into your inventory, but it is not needed to beat the game.
  • The Wilhelm Scream can be heard when baby Jimmy Hoffa is shrunk.
  • The Lost can be seen on a hatch in the secret underground cave. When you click it, another reference is made to Lost about the polar bears from the pilot.
  • On one of the radio frequencies someone shouts "Snake? Snaaaake!", as a reference to when Solid Snake dies in the Metal Gear series of computer games.
  • During one of the conversations, Sam tells Max that "This is the first time we have ever stopped a volcano god." to which Max replies. "Unless you count that time in the Philippines." This is a reference to the first Sam & Max comic book adventure, Monkeys Violating the Heavenly Temple.
  • Completing this episode gives you a 20G Achievement on the XBox 360.
  • The episode icon has a Moai head and the background colour is Blue.
