The Sign Spinner is a minor character who plays as one of General Skun'kape's ex-minions in They Stole Max's Brain!. Following his leader's defeat, he becomes a sign spinner for an undisclosed pet store.

Off-screen, after the events of The Penal Zone (in which General Skun-ka'pe was imprisoned), the gorilla began to re-evaluate his life choices and became a sign spinner (and apparently has a "girlfriend in the village"). Also, offscreen, while the spinner is spinning his sign to Frankie the Rat and a tourist, he witness's General Skun-ka'pe holding Max's brain fight a strangely-garbed man holding the Devil's Toybox.

After Sam discovers the theft of Max's brain, he becomes a much different detective. After interrogating the MoleMen who hint Skun-ka'pe's theft, Sam finds the Sign Spinner. He initially claims that he has not seen Skun-ka'pe and that he became a sign-spinning pacifist (the former is false, unlike the latter). He directs Sam to Frankie (who eventually leads him to Hubert Q Tourist). Both of them tell Sam that the Sign Spinner has seen Skun-ka'pe.

When re-confronted, the Spinner admits to his lies and reveals that he obtained the rhinoplasty toy after the strange man dropped it. He refuses to return it to Sam until he convinces him that Skun-ka'pe will never forgive him (this causes him to collapse to the ground silently).

He also appears in the alternate reality created by Sammun-Mak spinning a sign for the gift vault despite being right next to it (and Sal). He refuses to talk to or be bothered by Sam and Max. He was freed from this reality along with the rest of the world following Sammun-Mak's defeat. What he did from now on is unclear.

The Sign Spinner later re-appears in the credits of The City that Dares not Sleep!

Voiced by "Roger L. Jackson".
